Why (not) use ICT and Pedagogy

It’s funny how any type of change creates varied responses within society. Firstly you have the never change people, then you have ‘well maybe this just one section’ type of people and then you have the people who jump in head first not understanding the grass roots for the change, mess things up and walk away and lastly you have the people who have the ability to see that from the beginning of time life has changed.  Life is not stagnant, it never has been and never will be so why all the fuss about ICT and Pedagogy?

Firstly it is the emotions that come with change that really cause the problems. If one can step back and look with a different perspective then change can be viewed as either helpful or not helpful.  ICT and Pedagogy have proven to be extremely helpful in all areas of life and yes of course there are problems which still need to be overcome but by overcoming obstacles as they rise you will be learning at a much deeper level. The article “Pedagogy* technology: A two-dimensional model for teachers’ ICT integration”(Lin, Wang & Lin, 2012) is an excellent read  on integrating ICT to higher levels withing the learning environment.
